Christmas fair in the education centre, followed by Advent Spiral in the woods
Stalls, craft activities, music, seasonal story-telling, delicious food, beautiful handmade gifts, all the things you would expect from us in Chambers Farm Woods' beautiful education centre!
Followed by our annual twilight Advent Spiral in the woodland circle - a peaceful and beautiful way to start December. Children at the heart of this lovely ceremony.
The fair will be a fund-raiser for our groups, with stalls, gifts, craft activities, delicious food and drinks and loads of lovely festive stuff! If you'd like to get involved as a volunteer or offer a stall, we'd love to hear from you. Otherwise, please put the date in your diary, bring some money and tell all your friends!
It will be followed by the Advent Spiral, which is a beautiful annual tradition held at twilight. The atmosphere is quiet and contemplative, and we ask for no photography or use of mobile devices. A spiral of leaves and branches is laid out in the woodland circle and children are invited (with a parent) to enter the spiral and light their lamp from a central candle, and place it on the spiral on their way out. It is symbolic of lighting inner flames in the dark winter time, and our own journeys of finding and offering light. It is absolutely beautiful. All are welcome and there is no cost.
